    I'm assuming the ".exc" is a typo. Svchost.exe is an integral part of microsoft windows, and there is usually serveral instances running. I believe it can by hijacked by viruses, though. You might check this by turning off automatic Windows updates. If svchost.exe still wants to contact the internet, there might be a problem.
