Ryerson University (colloquially referred to as Ryerson, RyeU or RU) is a public research university located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The university's core campus is situated within the Garden District, although it also operates facilities elsewhere in Toronto.
In 2014, the Toronto-based CampusRanking.ca began publication of its annual Canadian University and College Rankings, focusing on undergraduate education. The student-generated rankings asked over 40,000 undergraduate students and alumni to rate their schools. The survey was done across 135 schools in Canada.
The school was named after Egerton Ryerson, who established the Toronto Normal School in 1847 on the future site of the Ryerson Institute of Technology. Ryerson's overall Macleans ranking is low. However, its ranking with regards to reputation is signifcantly greater than you seem to be aware. It ranks 19th of the 47 universities in Canada.
