The Saguaro Correctional Center ( SCC) is a private prison for male inmates, owned and operated by CoreCivic located in Eloy, Pinal County, Arizona.  The prison contracts with the Hawaii Department of Public Safety as well as the Idaho Department of Corrections. 
In June 2013, Kentucky temporarily ended its decades-long relationship with Corrections Corporation of America (CCA) (now CoreCivic ), closing Marion Adjustment Center in St. Mary, the last private prison at the time that housed Kentucky inmates. This decision was widely applauded across the state, as the tax dollar savings totaled in the millions.
The Trousdale Turner Correctional Center is a private prison for men, located in Hartsville, Trousdale County, Tennessee, owned and operated by CoreCivic (formerly Corrections Corporation of America) under contract with the Tennessee Department of Correction. 
CoreCivic manages more than 65 state and federal correctional and detention facilities with a capacity of more than 90,000 beds in 19 states and the District of Columbia.  The company's revenue in 2012 exceeded $1.7 billion.  By 2015, its contracts with federal correctional and detention authorities generated up to 51% of its revenues.

In November 2018, CalSTRS, the $220 billion-dollar California teachers pension fund, voted to divest from GEO Group and CoreCivic because of concerns expressed by teachers in the Bay Area.  In November, 2019, CalPERS, the $370 billion public employee pension fund, quietly divested from GEO Group and CoreCivic, as well.
