I happened to submitted an application for a Discover Card after 4 Years Post-Bankruptcy and was immediately denied citing that my CH7 BK included a Discover Card that was discharged as part of the proceedings. I contacted Discover, who discussed that it might be just that reason that could prevent ...
I just went to the Discover pre-approval site. I put in my info and it says that my off is a Discover IT with 0APR for 14 months. Has anyone been burned on this? I really want to use the rewards but I can wait. If anyone was pre-approved and then denied I'd like to hear about scores that were p...
Looking for some advice as to whether I should apply for the Discover Cash Back card. I was pre-approved this morning after filing out the required info. I was pre-approved for 3 of their cards, but the Cash Back being the best one IMO because of the 5% cash back. I'd like to add another revolver to...

I also believe the pre-approval to be pretty reliable, but also agree that it's a somewhat high APR for Discover, so in the end it's up to you if you pull the trigger. I can attest that it's easy to wait it out a bit, run another pre-approval in a few weeks if your profile improves in any shape or form, and you'll likely see a better APR on that.
(2) Are you eligible to earn an intro/bonus offer on a Discover IT card if you've previously had an IT card of a different type (i.e., Cash Back, Travel/Miles, Gas & Restaurants/Chrome, Balance Transfer, etc.)? In other words, does getting an intro/bonus offer on one type of IT card (let's say, Travel) make you ineligible for an intro/bonus on ...

Decided to reapply last week (without a pre approval) and was approved for the Discover Motiva for $1500. I know the CL is low but i plan to take good care of this card. They pulled EQ (654)...

Interestingly, when I received the rejection letter for the unsecured card a few days later, it showed they had pulled my credit from EX on 1/8. That must have been the SP from my prequal check. DW also applied for their unsecured card on 1/14 and didn't get approved. Immediately applied for their secured card the same day and got approved.
For reference, I got my Discover IT card 2 months ago and they did a hard pull on Experian. I was pre-approved with a fixed APR, etc. My EX score was 814. No derogs on my credit report. High AAoA. I think the only thing that impacted me - perhaps - was my combined revolving credit limits at the time of app were 17K+. My SL was 6K.
