City Centre Deira ( Arabic: سيتي سنتر ديرة) is a mall located in Port Saeed, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and is the original flagship mall in the Majid Al Futtaim Properties portfolio. City Centre Deira opened on 28 November 1995. It is located in the older part of the city on the crossroad between Sharjah, Bur Dubai and the Airport.
The district contains 30% of Dubai's trading locations and 10% of its GDP. A large portion of its earnings come from the historic fish, gold, and spice souqs that have been essential to the district for centuries. City Centre Deira is a flagship shopping mall in central Deira, with the Deira City Centre metro station at its entrance.
City Centre Deira station opened on 9 September 2009 as part of the initial stretch of the Dubai Metro, with trains running from Rashidiya to Nakheel Harbour and Tower to City Centre Deira and seven other intermediate stations. [2] In 2011, City Centre Deira was the second-busiest Metro station, handling almost 5.592 million passengers.
