Bank history[edit] Source: [5] Erie County Savings Bank was known as "The Big E" in advertising campaigns. (late 1960s - 1980s) The bank changed its name to the Erie Savings Bank (1977-1981). The bank's name changed to Empire of America (1982-1990). In 1992, M&T Bank and KeyBank acquired its remaining deposits and the bank was dissolved.

The Buffalo Savings Bank building opened in May 1901. The building's signature feature is the gold-leafed dome, which measures 23 feet tall and 56 feet in diameter. It is covered with 13,500 terra-cotta tiles. The tiles originally were overlaid with copper, which took on a greenish hue. [1] The tiles have been gilded three times.

The fourth Buffalo–Exchange Street station in 2011. Planning for the fourth and final New York Central structure began in 1949. New York heavily funded the station as being part of the Skyway construction. The total cost was $7 million. The station opened on August 2, 1952, as a secondary station to the Buffalo Central Terminal.
