Duy Tân University (Vietnamese: Trường Đại học Duy Tân) is a private research university in Da Nang, Vietnam. [ 1 ] The name derives from the Modernisation Movement, or phong trào Duy Tân, of 1906–1908. [ 2 ] In 2019, the school was awarded the "First Class Labor Medal" (" Huân chương Lao động hạng Nhất").
1976: The school was named Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology according to Decision No. 426/TTg dated October 27, 1976, with 5 faculties: Civil construction, Electrical engineering, Irrigation science, Mechanical engineering and Chemistry. October 27 has been chosen as the anniversary of HCMUT. 1978: Faculty of Geology was established.
This was amalgamated with Thu Duc Industrial Vocational School in 1984 and further merged with Technical Teacher Training School No.5 in 1991 to become the present Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education. In 1995, the university incorporated with National University Ho Chi Minh City as an informal member.
