The Directorate of Primary Education was established in 1981 to manage the nationalized primary schools. In 2013, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina nationalized 26 thousand more primary schools. Bangladesh has 126,615 primary schools, 540 thousand teachers and 18.6 million students.
Admission. Under the control of Directorate General of Secondary and Higher Education, Dhaka admission lotteries of all the government schools of Dhaka city are taken. There is no intense competition in the admission process. Students are selected to study at this school by lottery. Usually students are admitted in classes 1,6 and 9.
