This is a list of mayors of Bend, Oregon. The City of Bend was incorporated in 1904 and the first election for city leaders was held that year. The first mayor, Arthur L. Goodwillie, took office on January 4, 1905. Mayors were elected until Bend's charter was changed in 1928 following controversies sparked under the term of E.D. Gilson. [1]

The Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area is located on the Oregon Coast, stretching approximately 40 miles (64 km) north of the Coos River in North Bend to the Siuslaw River in Florence, and adjoining Honeyman State Park on the west. It is part of Siuslaw National Forest and is administered by the United States Forest Service.
Interstate 5 is the second-longest freeway in Oregon, at 308 miles (496 km), and is the only Interstate to traverse the state from north to south. [4] The highway connects several of the state's largest metropolitan areas, which lie in the Rogue and Willamette valleys, [5] and passes through counties with approximately 81 percent of Oregon's population. A group of Bend citizens banded together to deed a small piece of farmland to the City of Bend for a municipal landing strip. The site was developed and used for pilot training through World War II. After the war, the airstrip was maintained by the City of Bend for civil use; it slowly grew during the 1950s and 1960s.
The downtown area is located in the north-central part of the city along the St. Joseph River. Notre Dame, Indiana, is directly adjacent to the north. The city extends further north on the west side, mainly with manufacturing and distribution facilities near the South Bend International Airport.
