Cloudland High School is a public high school in Roan Mountain, Tennessee, United States and is one of the Carter County schools in north east Tennessee. The school has 337 students in grades seven through twelve.

In the 1970s the vocational programs were expanded in all Carter County high schools, with a new building at Unaka High housing Auto Body Repair, Cosmetology, General Building and Trades, and Vocational Office Education.

[8] Elizabethton is the historical site of the first independent American government (known as the Watauga Association, created in 1772) located west of both the Eastern Continental Divide and the original Thirteen Colonies.
The elementary school was destroyed by a fire in October 1959. [2] A new high school was built during 1961 thru 1963. The first students went to the new high school in late 1963. The first class of students to go all four years to this new school graduated in 1967. The old high school became the elementary school. Both buildings are still in use.

[3] The county is named in honor of Landon Carter (1760–1800), an early settler active in the "Lost State of Franklin" 1784-1788 secession from the State of North Carolina.
