Silver Lake is a lake in Grand Traverse County, Michigan. It is roughly 3.5 miles (5.6 km) from the northern to southern ends. The lake is known for its pine coasts, irregular shoreline, and many peninsulas and islands, despite being smaller in size. [2] Its maximum depth is 96 feet (29 m), making it the third deepest lake in Grand Traverse County.
The Buffalo Ridge Trail is a 1.5-mile (2.4 km) trail on Traverse City's west side, in Garfield Township. Completed in 2012, the trail connects the former Traverse City State Hospital and Mall Trail to infrastructure along Silver Lake Road, including a Meijer store, a YMCA, and Traverse City West Middle School. Acme Township (/ ˈ æ k m iː / AK-mee) is a civil township of Grand Traverse County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2020 census, the township population was 4,456, a slight increase from 4,375 at the 2010 census. The southwestern portion of the township is largely urbanized, due to its proximity to Traverse City.
As of the census [1] of 2000, there were 2,426 people, 978 households, and 707 families residing in the township. The population density was 134.7 inhabitants per square mile (52.0/km 2).
The town takes its name from the Hannah Lay and Company, which conducted lumber operations in Grand Traverse County. The company's founder was Perry Hannah, who later became the first mayor of Traverse City. [8] Today, Hannah remains the location of a catholic school and parish.
