The Encyclopedia of Philosophy is one of the major English encyclopedias of philosophy. [1] The first edition of the encyclopedia was edited by philosopher Paul Edwards (1923–2004), and it was published in two separate printings by Macmillan. [2] The first printing of the first edition appeared in 1967 as an 8-volume set of books.
The book was published as an Oxford University Press Paperback in 2001. Reception. Think: A Compelling Introduction to Philosophy received a positive review from the philosopher Mark Sainsbury in Mind. Sainsbury described the book as well-written, but criticized Blackburn's discussion of knowledge.
