Parx Casino and Racing. Parx Casino and Racing (formerly Philadelphia Park Racetrack and Casino) is a Thoroughbred horse racing venue and the largest casino gaming complex in Pennsylvania. Parx is located in Bensalem Township in Bucks County, northeast of the city of Philadelphia.
The track opened on August 30, 1972. It consists of a 1 mile (1.6 km) dirt course and a seven-furlong turf course. It is unusual among United States thoroughbred tracks in offering racing fifty-two weeks each year.
