The South Street Station (formerly known as The Narragansett Electric Company Power Station or Narragansett Electric Lighting Company Power Station and rebranded in 2017 as South Street Landing) is an historic electrical power generation station at 360 Eddy Street in Providence, Rhode Island.
This resulted in a March 18, 2021, announcement of agreements to sell WPD to National Grid plc for £7.8 billion and acquire National Grid's Rhode Island electric and gas utility, the Narragansett Electric Company, for $3.8 billion. The sale of WPD was completed on June 14, 2021.
By 2035, the company expects those investments will boost the grid's capacity to supply electricity to power more than a million electric cars and 750,000 heat pumps in Massachusetts.
