Plymouth is a city in Wayne County, Michigan, with a population of 9,370 as of 2020. It was settled in 1825, incorporated in 1867, and became a city in 1932. It hosts various events and attractions, such as the Plymouth Ice Festival, the Green Street Fair, and the Historic Old Village.

The Plymouth-Canton Educational Park (commonly PCEP or "The Park") encompasses three public secondary schools—Salem High School, Canton High School, and Plymouth High School—in Canton Township, Michigan, United States within Metro Detroit. [1] PCEP is located on a 305-acre (123 ha) campus.
Slavens was Vice President of the Plymouth-Canton Community Schools (PCCS) Board of Education. He previously served as President of the School Board for two years. He was first elected to the School Board in 1999 and elected to a second term with over 75% of the vote in 2003.
The Plymouth-Canton Community School District closed the Jarvis Stone School in 1967 and the building fell into ruin over the next ten years. In 1977, local resident Mrs. Irene Lyke, worked in tandem with the school board to have the title transferred into the hands of the SAHS. This dream was fulfilled in 1978.

Upon entering the Bands of America in 1986, Plymouth-Canton has been a National Finalist (Top 12) all but three years since 1988. This has honor has been exceeded only by the Marian Catholic High School Band. The Plymouth-Canton Marching Band has won more than 500 awards in 16 years.
