Queen's Grant High School is a charter school in Matthews, North Carolina. [1] The campus is on 32 acres, formerly Idlewild Country Club. It is an extension of Queen's Grant Community School, an NHA charter that offers grades K-8.
The International Indian School is an English medium school and was founded in 2002 in Ajman, United Arab Emirates. [1] The school is recognized by the Ministry of Education, U.A.E. and affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi. In 2018 all 143 students who sat the grade 10 CBSE exams passed. [2]
In the 1970s a group of parents from Bliss, located in the Bliss School District, sought to enroll their children in the Gooding schools. [8] The Bliss district, beginning in 1975, decided not to permit certain parents to enroll children in the Gooding schools in a tuition free way, and in response the Gooding district denied the transfers since that district did not get tuition money. [9]

The school is parent owned and parent governed. Every year a Board of Directors is elected by all parents (members of ISKL). Parents serve on the board for two years. The 2020-2023 Board [18] has 14 members, all parents of ISKL students. 13 members were elected in September 2020 for a three-year term and one is the US Embassy Appointee.
The school building was located on Center Street and 300 West. It was designed to house 350 students and became overcrowded as the student body grew to 500. It was torn down in 2000 to make room for a parking lot. (Cedar High School was never part of Branch Agricultural College, which was across the street from the original High School location.)
