Central is one of only two high schools in Cabarrus County's K–12 STEM Pipeline, the only program of its kind in the state of North Carolina. The school had 138 students and six teachers. The next year there were 463 students and 13 teachers, and the first 10th grade graduating class had 13 members. In 1934 the school added ten rooms, and in 1952 a cafeteria was added, with students paying 25 cents for lunch. [2] The building which became the middle school was added in 1957. [2]
