The Lower Sioux Agency, or Redwood Agency, was the federal administrative center for the Lower Sioux Indian Reservation in what became Redwood County, Minnesota, United States. It was the site of the Battle of Lower Sioux Agency on August 18, 1862, the first organized battle of the Dakota War of 1862.
Geography. According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 4.2 square miles (11 km 2 ), of which 4.1 square miles (11 km 2) is land and 0.1 square miles (0.26 km 2) (1.93%) is water. Most of what was Honner Township is now occupied by the city of Redwood Falls, the county seat of Redwood County.
