A member of the Republican Party, he previously represented the 7th district from 2007 to 2009 and from 2011 to 2023.
Michigan's 7th congressional district is a United States congressional district in Southern Michigan and portions of Central Michigan. From 2004 to 2013 it consisted of all of Branch, Eaton, Hillsdale, Jackson, and Lenawee counties, and included most of Calhoun and a large portion of western and northern Washtenaw counties.
Jenkins-Arno previously represented most of Lenawee County for three, two-year terms in the Michigan House. She left office in 2016 due to the term limits law that was in place at the time.
