The Logan Banner, originally named the Logan County Banner, is a newspaper in Logan, West Virginia owned by HD Media, LLC, parent company of The Herald-Dispatch in Huntington. Circulation is limited to Logan County and surrounding areas. The newspaper was founded in 1889, by Henry Clay Ragland, a veteran of the Confederate army, as a weekly paper.
The Trimble Community Forest or Trimble Township Community Forest is a 1,200-acre (4.9 km 2) forest preserve owned by the Appalachia Ohio Alliance, a land trust located in southeast Ohio. Formerly called Taylor Ridge, it was purchased in 2006 from the Sunday Creek Coal Company, and was formerly part of the Sunday Creek State Wildlife Area . [1]
The Jackson County Banner was founded by William Frysinger April 1, 1869, and sold seven months later to Henry M. Beadle. Less than a year later, Beadle sold the newspaper back to Frysinger. This newspaper went back and forth among owners until 1896 when Frysinger's widow inherited the paper after his death.
