Las Cruces High School. Las Cruces High School is a public high school in Las Cruces, New Mexico, United States. LCHS was established in 1918 and is the oldest public high school in Las Cruces. As of the 2021-22 school year, it serves 1,830 students from grades 9–12. [2] It is a part of Las Cruces Public Schools.
Lake Creek opened on August 21, 2018, for the 2018–2019 school year. The first principal was Phil Eaton. The school is located on Farm to Market Road 2854. Lake Creek High School is named after the Lake Creek Settlement: an early settlement in Stephen F. Austin's Second Colony established before Texas' independence from Mexico.
Records for the University of North Alabama indicate that the school then known as Florence Normal College once played Lauderdale County High School in the early part of the century, and LCHS won over the college team. In the 1940s during World War II, many young men were fighting, so the school played six-man football.
The marching band is also the 2002 BOA Grand National Runner-Up and 2008 Grand National Second Runner-Up. At BOA Grand National Finals, the marching band has won the Outstanding Visual caption award in 2002, 2004, 2006, and 2008 (tie-Avon High School). The marching band has been a consistent BOA Grand National Finalist since 1996.

The school is coeducational and runs on a traditional quarter system. As a parochial school, LCHS requires all students to take one credit (full-year course) of religious study for each year of their duration at the school. LCHS offers levels of classes including general, academic, honors and AP classes on a minimum college-prep level.
