Greenford is an unincorporated community in central Green Township, Mahoning County, Ohio, United States. The community lies along State Route 165 a short distance north of Salem. It is part of the Youngstown–Warren metropolitan area. Greenford has a post office with the ZIP code 44422, in operation since 1829.
Pine Hall, a historic plantation house, bearing the same name was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. [2] In 1922, Flake Steele took over Consolidated Brick Co. and bought hundreds of acres containing Triassic shale. Pine Hall Brick Co. moved its offices to Winston-Salem, North Carolina, two years later.

[3] It lies at the intersection of U.S. Route 40 with State Route 13. Jacksontown is the birthplace of Carl Osburn, winner of five Olympic gold medals, four silver medals and two bronze.

The first school on the current school grounds was built in 1887 in the pine grove for which the community is named. The pine grove was cut down in 1957, but a group of students and alumni replanted pine trees around the school during a reunion in 2008. Pine Grove Elementary was closed as a K-5 school in 2011.
The community (originally Obetz Junction, in honor of settler Charles Obetz) was formed in 1838 as a stagecoach junction, and incorporated in 1928.Nearby Reese Station served as the railroad station for the immediate area, [citation needed] while other adjacent communities such as Groveport, Lockbourne and Canal Winchester were part of the Ohio and Erie Canal canal and lock system.
