[2] One of his sons, Robert Henri, became a painter. [2] Cozad shot a man in 1882, and he sold the hotel to Stephen A. Hendee, who remained its owner until 1910. [2]
The current Cozad High School mascot is named the Haymaker, in reference to one of the earliest pieces of local folklore, a character by the name of Johnny C. Haymaker.
