History. The Philadelphia Family Court system formed in 1914 and was known as the Juvenile and Domestic Branches of the Municipal Court. Between 1914 and 1939 the court processed $35,482,478 in claims which otherwise would have been charges to the city government. The charges range from $345,490 in 1914 to $1,565,682 in 1939.
