A gateway is a piece of networking hardware or software used in telecommunications networks that allows data to flow from one discrete network to another. Gateways are distinct from routers or switches in that they communicate using more than one protocol to connect multiple networks [1] [2] and can operate at any of the seven layers of the OSI model.

Jean Schlumberger (born Paul Conrad Nikolaus Johann Schlumberger; [1] 26 May 1877 – 25 October 1968) was a French writer, journalist and poet. He was born in Guebwiller , Alsace-Lorraine , and died in Paris .
He has worked for Schlumberger for 32 years (as of July 2019), rising to chief operating officer (COO) in February 2019, before succeeding Paal Kibsgaard as CEO on 1 August 2019. [ 2 ] [ 5 ] [ 4 ] In 2023, Le Peuch's total compensation from Schlumberger was $17.2 million, representing a CEO-to-median worker pay ratio of 154-to-1.
The Giant's Causeway (Irish: Clochán an Aifir) [1] is an area of about 40,000 interlocking basalt columns, the result of an ancient volcanic fissure eruption. Pierre Schlumberger was born in 1914, the son of Marcel Schlumberger, a mechanical engineer, and his wife Jeanne Laurans. [1] Marcel co-founded Schlumberger in the 1920s with his brother, Conrad, a physicist. [1] Pierre was the brothers' only male heir.
