The Carleton Knights are the athletic teams that represent Carleton College, located in Northfield, Minnesota, in intercollegiate sports as a member of the NCAA Division III ranks, primarily competing in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) since the 1983–84 academic year; which they were a member on a previous stint from 1920–21 to 1924–25.
History. The Carleton Ultimate Team was founded in 1984 from a team named the Frisbee Union of Carleton Knights. In the late 1980s there was a concerted campaign to make the team more competitive through winter conditioning, specializing players in defense, and recruiting athletes from varsity sports teams on campus. Auburn Tigers. The Auburn Tigers baseball team represents Auburn University in NCAA Division I college baseball. Along with most other Auburn athletic teams, the baseball team participates in the Western division of the Southeastern Conference. The Tigers play their home games on campus at Plainsman Park, and they are coached by Butch Thompson.
