August 22, 1996. The Downtown Cheyenne Historic District in Cheyenne, Wyoming is a historic district that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. [1] It is an area of about seven blocks, in the core of the original business district of Cheyenne, and home of many of the first masonry commercial buildings in Cheyenne.
This article lists the oldest extant buildings in Wyoming, including extant buildings and structures constructed prior to and during the United States rule over Wyoming. Only buildings built prior to 1880 are suitable for inclusion on this list, or the building must be the oldest of its type.
Added to NRHP. November 30, 1978. The City and County Building, also known as the City-County Building, at 19th St. and Carey Ave. in Cheyenne, Wyoming, was built during 1917–1919. It was designed by architect William Dubois in Classical Revival style. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. [1]
