Indian River Central High School. Indian River High School is a high school in the Indian River Central School District in Philadelphia, New York. The High School opened in 1959 as a grade 7–12 facility; currently it serves grades 9–12. The school's students live in several towns and villages located in northern Jefferson County, New York.
History. The school originally opened in the fall of 1963 for 7th graders. From that day forward they were always the 'seniors' at Indian River Junior High. In their Junior ['67-'68] year the school board was petitioned and the school was upgraded to Indian River Senior High. There were approximately 185 students that graduated in 1969.

This was the first Indian Land High School building to be built on a new campus since 1980 as the previous two were on the same campus.
The original Toms River High School graduated its first class in 1891 and the current building opened for students in 1951. [10] In 1969, when the high school was found to be too small, a second high school, Toms River High School North was opened [11] and South was appended onto the school's original name, and a third high school in the district, Toms River High School East, was opened in 1979.
