It was founded as the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Junior College by the Felician Sisters in 1937. It became Madonna College in 1947 and Madonna University in 1991.
Livonia Community Recreation Center. After the school closed, the building and facilities were used for adult education, youth sports, and community groups. Most of the building was demolished in 1998, removing roughly 70% of the structure. The remainder was still used for adult education until the rest of the school was demolished in 2001.
History. Adlai E. Stevenson High School was built in 1965 to accommodate the rising population of Livonia with the increased migration of people from Detroit to the suburbs during the 1960s. It was dedicated on October 24, 1965, United Nations Day, and the 20th anniversary of that body's founding, by Vice President Hubert H. Humphrey.
