The Broadway Hollywood Building (sometimes Broadway Building or Broadway Department Store Building) is a building in Los Angeles' Hollywood district. The building is situated in the Hollywood Walk of Fame monument area on the southwest corner of the intersection referred to as Hollywood and Vine, marking the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street.
The 2000 U.S. census counted 77,818 residents in the 3.51-square-mile (9.1 km 2) Hollywood neighborhood—an average of 22,193 people per square mile (8,569 people/km 2 ), the seventh- densest neighborhood in all of Los Angeles County. In 2008 the city estimated that the population had increased to 85,489.
The Hollywood Police Department (HPD) is a full-service agency servicing a population of 152,511 in 27 square miles (70 km 2) of the municipality of Hollywood, Florida. At full strength, the department has 322 sworn law-enforcement officers.
From 1931 to 1982 it housed The Broadway-Hollywood department store. The sign is a historical landmark and remains. In 2007, the Broadway Hollywood Building underwent extensive reconstruction and has opened as a luxury class apartment building. The building has an art deco style annex just to the west of it built in the 1930s. (1943).
The Capitol Records Building, also known as the Capitol Records Tower, is a 13-story tower building in Hollywood, California. Designed by Louis Naidorf of Welton Becket Associates, it is one of the city's landmarks. [5] Construction began soon after British music company EMI acquired Capitol Records in 1955, and was completed in April 1956.

It runs through the Hollywood, East Hollywood, Little Armenia, Thai Town, and Los Feliz districts. Its western terminus is at Sunset Plaza Drive in the Hollywood Hills and its eastern terminus is at Sunset Boulevard in Los Feliz.
The building and tower just behind and to the right of the sign is the City of Los Angeles Central Communications Facility, which supports all cellphone, microwave, and radio towers used by the Los Angeles Police Department, the Fire Department, the Los Angeles Unified School District, and other municipal agencies.
