History and architectural features. This historic structure is a three-story Queen Anne -style house that was built in 1888. Designed by Elmira architects Pierce & Dockstader for Jesse Robinson, it features a steeply pitched roof, specially cut wood shingle siding in the dormer areas, and a wrap-around, lattice-trimmed porch.

Benjamin Wistar Morris (sometimes spelled "Wister"; 1762–1825) [1] was the founder of Wellsboro, Pennsylvania. Samuel Wells Morris, Morris' son, was a member of the U.S. House of Representatives. His grandson was Episcopal bishop Benjamin Wistar Morris, II, and his great grandson was Benjamin Wistar Morris, III, a noted architect.
