In the fall of 1990, WTAE gave Pittsburgh its first 5am newscast and expanded its one-hour morning newscast to two hours, shifting the starting time from 6 a.m. to 5 a.m. The move took place the same day KDKA expanded its half-hour morning newscast to an hour and started it at 6 a.m. As it gained news in the morning, WTAE lost news at noon.
Wiggin became a host for the Pittsburgh Steelers pre-game shows in 1993 and continued until December 2017. She also makes regular guest appearances on WDVE morning comedy show. Wiggin's role with WTAE shifted in 2004 when she left the 11 pm news and joined the noon news.
