The Elizabethtown Area School District is a school district in the Northwest corner of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, United States that serves Elizabethown Borough and the townships of Conoy, and West Donegal, as well as the North and West part of Mount Joy Township. It is a member of Lancaster-Lebanon Intermediate Unit (IU) 13.
Elizabethtown High School is located in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, United States. A part of Elizabethtown Independent Schools (EIS), it is commonly referred to as E'Town High School or EHS. Elizabethtown High School ranked #7 in the state on the 2009 spring exam. The school has a population of 775 students and employs about 50 teachers.
Small factories existed at the turn of the 20th century when the population in 1900 was 1,861. As of the 2020 census, the population of the borough was 11,639. Elizabethtown is commonly referred to in south-central Pennsylvania as E-Town. This nickname is also used for the local college and high school.
In 1921, the Pennsylvania Department of Public Instruction accredited the college, and authorized its first baccalaureate degrees in arts and sciences.
