It is approximately 10 miles upriver from the mouth of the West Branch Susquehanna River and about 30 miles downriver of Williamsport .
History and architectural features This historic district encompasses 719 contributing buildings that are located in the central business district and surrounding residential areas of Milton. The buildings mostly date from the 1880s to the early twentieth century; older buildings were largely lost due to a fire in 1880 and floods in 1972 and 1977.
