A sundown town is an all-white community that shows or has shown hostility toward non-whites. Sundown town practices may be evoked in the form of city ordinances barring people of color after dark, exclusionary covenants for housing opportunity, signage warning ethnic groups to vacate, unequal treatment by local law enforcement, and unwritten rules permitting the harassment of non-whites.
Wellsboro is a borough and county seat of Tioga County, Pennsylvania, United States. The borough was founded by Benjamin Wistar Morris. It is located 52 miles (84 km) northwest of Williamsport. The population was 3,472 at the 2020 census. [2] Early in the 20th century, Wellsboro was the shipping point and trade center for a large area.
In the township, the population was spread out, with 26.1% under the age of 18, 6.6% from 18 to 24, 27.0% from 25 to 44, 27.4% from 45 to 64, and 12.9% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 40 years. For every 100 females, there were 97.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 97.7 males.
