Kyambogo University was established in 2003 by the Universities and Other Tertiary Institutions Act 2001 by merging Uganda Polytechnic Kyambogo (UPK), the Institute of Teacher Education, Kyambogo (ITEK), and the Uganda Nationalstitute of Special Education (UNISE). [3]
Victoria Rusoke Businge also known as Rusoke Victoria Businge (born on 3 January 1956) is a Ugandan politician and teacher. [1] Victoria served as the district Women's Representative of Kabarole District in the ninth Parliament of Uganda. [2] She was re-elected as the member of the eleventh parliament of Uganda in the 2021 January elections.
In 2001, she graduated with a Diploma in Education, awarded by the Institute of Teacher Education (ITEK), now a component of Kyambogo University. In 2005, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Human Resource Management, awarded by Makerere University. Later in 2009, she was awarded a Master of Arts in ethics and public management. [4]
It was subsequently moved to Mbarara and finally to Kyambogo as well. In 1988, the Uganda National Institute of Special Education (UNISE), originally a department at ITEK, was spun off as a separate institution. In 2003, the three institutions were merged to form Kyambogo University, the third public university to be established in Uganda. [3] [4]

Maria Musoke. Maria Musoke, sometimes referred to as Maria G.N. Musoke (born 19 January 1955) is a Ugandan information scientist and academician. She is the first Ugandan woman to obtain a PhD in Information Science. [ 1] She is a professor of Information Science and a Deputy Vice Chancellor (May 2018–) at Kyambogo University in Uganda.
