2nd Rowan County Regiment. The 2nd Rowan County Regiment was first established in October 22, 1775 as a local militia in Rowan County in the Province of North-Carolina. This regiment was created from the existing Rowan County Regiment of militia. Its original officers were Col Adlai Osborne, Lt Col Christopher Beekman, and Major Charles McDowell.
The Rowan County regiment was split on October 22, 1775 into two distinct regiment, the 1st Rowan County Regiment and the 2nd Rowan County Regiment. On December 22 that same year, the North Carolina Provincial Council split the Pasquotank County Regiment into two separate and distinct regiments, the 1st and 2nd Pasquotank County regiments.

Charles Frederick Fisher (December 26, 1816 – July 21, 1861) was an American attorney, legislator, engineer, and soldier from Salisbury, the county seat of Rowan County, North Carolina. He served as President of the North Carolina Railroad and died in battle as an officer leading the 6th North Carolina regiment of the Confederate States Army.
