The current Knightdale High School opened on August 10, 2004 as one of 17 public high schools in Wake County, North Carolina. [2] During the 2015–2016 school year, Knightdale High School was renamed to Knightdale High School of Collaborative Design to promote positive growth in the school. In June 2019 Keith Richardson became the principal.

Willow Spring High School ( WSHS) is a public high school located in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina. The school began construction in 2017 to accommodate the growing population of Wake County, and began operation in 2021.
