For customer security it remains in effect, however for the purpose of setting up a repair or replacement, it is turned off as soon as it is removed from the iCloud account. This is expected behavior.
So, I logged into iCloud, and I can't remember if I enabled Find My at that time. I didn't feel safe, so I logged out of the ID that was given to me (it wasn't my friend's, but rather someone they borrowed it from to download games). The FindMy app doesn’t automatically sync after you update to iOS 15. Although the app loads and seems to work fine the “live” feature doesn’t automatically go active. in order to get this working you manually have to REMOVE all your contacts from the map. And stop sharing your location. Restart your phone.
