Kairos (Ancient Greek: καιρός) is an ancient Greek word meaning 'the right or critical moment'. [1] In modern Greek, kairos also means 'weather' or 'time'. It is one of two words that the ancient Greeks had for ' time '; the other being chronos (χρόνος).
It refers to clock time — time that can be measured — seconds, minutes, hours, years. Where Chronos is quantitative, kairos is qualitative. It measures moments, not seconds. Further, it refers to the right moment, the opportune moment. The perfect moment.
The Ancient Greeks had two words for time: 1. Chronos = sequential, quantitative time 2. Kairos = fluctuating, qualitative time.
