The University of Sussex is a public research university located in Falmer, East Sussex, England. It lies mostly within the city boundaries of Brighton and Hove. Its large campus site is surrounded by the South Downs National Park, and provides convenient access to central Brighton 5.5 kilometres (3.4 mi) away.
Born in 1937 at Hawkhurst, Kent, Kedward spent his early life in Goldthorpe ( Yorkshire ), Tenterden (Kent) and in Bath, where he obtained a scholarship to attend Kingswood School. [1] He then studied at Worcester College and St Antony's College, Oxford, before being recruited as a lecturer at the University of Sussex in 1962.
