The York Time Institute is a school in York, Pennsylvania providing instruction in the conservation, restoration, and repair of traditional and modern time-keeping devices. It was founded in 2008 by Daniel Nied, [1] [2] [3] former Director of the School of Horology of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors .

History. The York Mechanics' Institute was founded in 1827 and taught art and science classes. By 1877, the institute had a library that contained over 10,000 volumes. In 1891, a technical school was founded by the City of York Council and this took over teaching from the Mechanics' Institute which was dissolved in 1892 with its library and many of the books being handed over to the council.
