Atrium Health Cabarrus [1] (formerly Cabarrus Memorial Hospital, later NorthEast Medical Center, Carolinas Medical Center-Northeast and Carolinas HealthCare System NorthEast) is a 457-bed, acute-care, teaching hospital located in Concord, North Carolina, United States.
Rowan County (/ r oʊ ˈ æ n / roh-AN) [1] [2] is a county in the U.S. state of North Carolina that was formed in 1753, as part of the British Province of North Carolina.It was originally a vast territory with unlimited western boundaries, but its size was reduced to 524 square miles (1,360 km 2) after several counties were formed from Rowan County in the 18th and 19th centuries.
Their son Warren Clay Coleman, born into slavery in 1849, after the war became a successful businessman in Cabarrus County, in part aided by his father's influence and expertise as a lawyer. In addition to owning stores and a rental company in Concord, Coleman was a founder in 1895 of the first African-American owned and operated textile mill.
On March 6, 1944, the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors voted to adopt an ordinance giving county voters the opportunity to accept or reject the CERL as the framework for retirement benefits for county employees. The measure was passed by the voters. CCCERA began functioning on July 1, 1945.
The county was formed in 1754 from Bladen County.It was named for Prince William Augustus, Duke of Cumberland (1721–1765), captain-general of the British army and victorious commander at the Battle of Culloden.
