This program has 36 competency units (credit hours), equaling a total of 12 courses. This program is designed to take 4 terms, or 24 months. Beginning 10/1, our students should expect the MPH to return to the competency-based model, which will allow students to have the potential to accelerate through the program."

Got a call few hours later. The admissions rep told me what will really help is taking a course in A+ certification or doing self-study and passing the test. He said that will help getting accepted at WGU. I had to drop ITT Tech a year ago. My life changed completely.
WGU Excellence Award? catscaps Member Posts: 24 . September 2017. I recently received an email stating that one of my papers was "selected by the WGU Evaluation faculty for recognition due to the exceptional nature of the work you submitted." Is this a way WGU motivates students and everyone gets one or two during their program?
Where WGU shines for many is that it's focused on working professionals who are trying to get a degree to learn a bit more or look better career wise. I just logged in with my WGU credentials with the link provided, no account setup needed, and no indication of restrictions (I haven't used the 90-day trial previously offered).
I'm not knocking WGU, I am proud of my degree from WGU. But, I don't pretend and think that I wouldn't have learned more by going to actual classes in a classroom that enabled me to networking with students/teachers, being able to ask questions for the next 4-8years that it would've taken me to finish going part time at night.
WGU WAS regionally accredited when I checked. Many of us here are familiar with WGU. Major points are probably it is 100% online, fully self-paced and could be insanely accelerated, accepts existing certs for credits, provides you with certifications in the process (A+, CCNA, MCSA, CEH, CHFI, etc. had to be passed on vendor's conditions, i.e. you may need to go to Prometric/Pearson VUE testing ...
