It is one of the twelve schools of the Chaffey Joint Union High School District [2] and serves students in the Etiwanda community on the northeast side of Rancho Cucamonga.
It is one of the four comprehensive high schools in the Chino Valley Unified School District. The school was established in 1990 and named after California state senator Ruben S. Ayala. [6] It received the 2011 California Distinguished School award [7] and the 2015 California Gold Ribbon School Award.
Justin Garza was the head football coach at Central High from 2012 through 2015, becoming a beloved campus and community figure after starting his career as a teacher there in 1999 and also serving as a football, track and golf assistant.
