Lana M. Tisdel (born May 28, 1975) [2] is an American woman whose early life and involvement with the December 1993 murders of Brandon Teena, Lisa Lambert, and Phillip DeVine at the hands of John Lotter and Tom Nissen is chronicled in the 1998 documentary The Brandon Teena Story and the 1999 film Boys Don't Cry (which left out DeVine). Brandon Teena [note 1] (December 12, 1972 – December 31, 1993) was an American transgender man who was raped and later, along with Phillip DeVine and Lisa Lambert, murdered in Humboldt, Nebraska, by John Lotter and Tom Nissen.
