[2] Its ZIP Code is 19492 [3] and it is located on the west side of the Perkiomen Creek where PA Route 29 (Gravel Pike) and PA Route 73 (Big Rd) split at a roundabout, just north of Schwenksville.

It runs from PA 61 near Leesport southeast to the New Jersey state line on the Tacony–Palmyra Bridge over the Delaware River in Philadelphia, where the road continues south as New Jersey Route 73.
Limerick Township is a member of the Spring-Ford Area School District. The township grew from a 1990 population of 6,600 to 18,074 as of the 2010 census.
