Once I sign up, how do I start downloading images, video, and music?

The easiest way to search for files on iStock is by typing keywords into the search bar at the top of the site and selecting the file type you're looking for (by default we'll only show you photos and illustrations).

Once you've entered a keyword, we'll show you search results related to the term. To get exactly what you're looking for, you can apply additional filters to your search results using our refine panel. Once you find an image or video you like, click its thumbnail to see details about the file and download it.

To download music or sound effects, click Music in the navigation bar at the top of your screen and continue to our Epidemic Sound partner site to start searching.

What happens if I don't use all of my subscription downloads each month?

Your subscription gives you access to a set number of downloads each month. You can rollover up to 250 unused downloads month to month if you've got an annual subscription or a subscription with auto-renew enabled. If auto-renew is disabled when your subscription term ends, you will lose all rollover downloads that you've accrued.

Will certain content use more than one subscription download?

No. Every asset—whether it's a photo, illustration, video, or music clip—will use a single subscription download regardless of size, resolution, or collection it belongs to.

Do my licensed image and video downloads ever expire?

There is no expiration date on your rights to use files downloaded during your subscription period.

Files licensed with credits can also be used in as many projects you like for as long as you want. Credits never expire as long as you sign into your account at least once a year.

Do I need to have auto-renew enabled to maintain the first-time customer monthly rate?

For ultimate convenience, we recommend turning on the auto-renew feature. However, as long as you renew your month-to-month plan before it expires, you’ll continue to receive your discounted rate for up to a year from your original subscription date.

If you subscribe to an annual plan, the auto-renew feature will have no impact on your rate. You’ll be guaranteed preferred pricing for the full first year of your subscription.

If I choose an annual subscription, will I be charged monthly or for the total amount?

At checkout, you'll be able to choose between three billing schedule options:

• Monthly (12 payments)

• Quarterly (4 payments)

• Single payment

The total amount will be the same, regardless of the billing schedule you choose.
