Hey everybody fed here, and I'm off on a new project probably my most ambitious project of the year, but I'm getting ready to build a pole barn or a pole garage had no barn next to the house here, and I had to tear it down last year because it was falling in and my poor little tractor had to spend all last winter and all this summer outside it kind of broke my heart seeing her sit out there and suffer like that, so I'm going to try to get back on better terms with Mrs. Quota and build her something that she can get up underneath this winter when it's cold and snowing outside now is not going to be anything special about this barn it's going to be about 32 feet wide maybe 20 24 feet deep I want to have three babies in it that way I can pull my tractor in one bay maybe keep my implements or something like that and another and have another bay to keep my work land I don't know it should provide a lot of space to keep some things dry that I want out of the weather, so I'm pretty excited about that now I'm going to tell you this project is going to suck and the reason is that it's starting to get cold outside and I don't handle the cold real well it's starting to get dark early I don't have any power down there in the field and I don't have you water down there, so I'm going to be running back and forth probably you know mixing up concrete and I don't know cutting and all that kind of stuff, so there's not going to be easy about it but is there anything ever easy about these projects it's just you know it will make it be something to be that much prouder of because you have to work hard to do it now if I had my preference I'd pour a slab and frame off that, so I understand you know understand framing a little better that way, but I don't really have the money to pour slabs, so I'm just going to put some sticks in the ground and build it that way now this is going to be a multi-part video that will probably span the next few months because it is getting cold and starting to become winter my goal right now is to get the sticks in the ground get it banded and get a roof over if I can get that much done I'll be tickled to death that way I can get my tractor in the dry and come back next spring and go ahead and close it in so worst case scenario that's what I have to get done in the next few weeks so multi-part video and what I want to try to do is kind of take it in little chunks along the way and hopefully give you some tips and tricks along the way maybe inspire you a little or give you the confidence to try on your own or give you some of your own ideas the first part in this video what I want to try to do is kind of take the mystery out of getting a site prepared to build on and take the mystery out of squaring up the building because man that's the most important part you blow that part it's just not going to be good the rest of time, so I've got my steaks cut out got my string got my tape measures and I think we just need to go down the field and...
