Out I actually don't all right Melissa click world-famous after that clip in terms of full disclosure Willie you were a student of hers when you were down at Mizzou were you not that's right my girl from two classes all right we'll get back to that will you are you studying her dissertation on no Lady Gaga were you doing that class no no it was my idea but more on them all right fair enough uh that scandal than a Mizzou has affected many things including enrollment to talk about it is Brenda talent from the show-me Institute CEO of the show-me Institute good morning Brenda talent good morning across all right so the scandal that is rocked to Missouri there been a number of them but that one was front and center garnered national attention people are saying has a direct adverse effect on enrollment down there it certainly does enrollment is down for freshman by over 20×, and they're saying that the enrollment has gone from around 6,200 they've lost about 1400 of incoming freshmen and 1200 other students so the impact of the enrollment decline in and of itself is around 36 million dollars which is uh I mean 2500 students 2,600 students that's okay that's a lot of students I had no idea that it made up 35 million dollars worth of tuition right just in tuition alone and of course it's going to have ripple effects throughout the system they're now predicting a loss of about 46 million dollars in revenue which would be a combination of different factors, but certainly the loss of enrollment is major contribute anyone and people are saying that that is a direct result of some of those protests and those scandals going on down there yes it certainly is correlated with that it makes sense that it would be there is actually a study that was released, and it was focused on scandals and the scandals it was focused on was hazing sexual scandals those types of things, but it's not surprising to extrapolate from that study that in fact a scandal like protests on campus about racism would in fact have a very negative effect and of course we saw a ripple effect with those pro test where not only did we have the issues associated with the protest itself, but then we saw a complete breakdown and leadership which of course as parents and students coming to the University of Missouri would give you pause for concern you remember going through that very well and I remember there were a number of parents who said uh my kids a senior down there if I had to do it all over again I wouldn't send my kid down there I don't feel they're safe I don't hear you have a teacher who is threatening violence against a student in a university that is supposed to be world renowned for its journalism exactly I mean and University campus is supposed to be a place where you can have a civil discourse where you can actually be very vigorous in asserting your views yes and so now they need a new chancellor they need a new president now they need a new football coach new base baseball coach...
